E agora, algo completamente diferente: Parnis. Escusa de procurar, porque a marca não tem website próprio, nem história, nem página na Wikipedia.
Isto porque, aparentemente, é uma marca chinesa, fabricada na China, por alguém que não se sabe bem quem é...
A verdade é esta: são relógios – pelo menos a maioria – muito bonitos e é possível adquirir movimentos automáticos por menos de €100.
Apesar de não haver site oficial, há muitas lojas online dedicadas exclusivamente à venda desta marca, por exemplo aqui e aqui (os primeiros resultados que encontrei num motor de busca com o critério "Parnis watches"). O exemplo da imagem custa apenas €54(!), tem uma execução belíssima e é baseado num movimento automático chinês que parece ser uma cópia do ETA 2892.
Penso que o preço é suficientemente acessível para se tentar a sorte. Há abundante informação em fóruns de relógios sobre os Parnis e o consenso parece ser o de que são excelentes para o preço que custam. Este modelo em particular é considerado como um dos 20 melhores relógios abaixo dos 100 dólares pelo Poor Man's Watch Forum. Uma review de um outro modelo da marca no site britânico Watch Guy confirma a ideia de que se trata de uma boa relação qualidade-preço e que havendo alguns problemas de acabamento da caixa, os movimentos automáticos são precisos.
Claro que não são tão precisos que levem a que a indicação "Chronometer" no mostrador deste Parnis signifique que estejamos realmente na presença de um cronómetro...

Quando falei inicialmente dos relógios da Vostok Europe disse que voltaria ao catálogo da marca, o qual contém imensas peças que são do meu agrado e encaixam no critério de “boas, bonitas e baratas”. Este Expedition North Pole 1 numa variação bracelete tipo NATO, é um dos modelos do atual catálogo da marca que considero original e interessante.

De acordo com a Vostok Europe, o nome deriva da primeira estação soviética flutuante estabelecida no Polo Norte em 1937 e que se chamava, precisamente, “North Pole – 1” (presumivelmente em russo, claro!).

Quanto ao relógio em si, é uma peça de dimensões generosas (diâmetro de 47mm) com três ponteiros e data, baseada num movimento mecânico automático Vostok de 32 rubis. O mostrador é protegido por um espesso vidro mineral K1 (vidro mineral endurecido) com uma espessura de 4,1 mm. A construção robusta do relógio, em aço, bem como a sua coroa de rosca garantem uma resistência à água até 200 metros (20 atmosferas).

Existem 12 variações deste modelo, com diferentes conjugações de bracelete, cor da caixa e cor do mostrador. Esta, em particular, custa €249, o que me parece um valor muito interessante para um relógio com estas características. A Vostok Europe é representada em Portugal pela SRI.

A Avi-8 é uma marca inglesa de relógios cujos modelos são inspirados pelas glórias da aviação britânica da Segunda Guerra Mundial (e não só): Hawker Hurricane, Hawker Hunter, Hawker Harrier, Lencaster Bomber, Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Typhoon e Curtiss Tomahawk.

Claro que estamos a falar de uma marca recente e contemporânea e não de alguém que andou anos a produzir relógios para pilotos de aviões! Mas a Avi-8 parece levar a sério a ligação dos seus modelos com os aviões que os inspiram, razão pela qual recebe o meu respeito. É o caso deste modelo, da gama Lencaster Bomber, com a referência AV-4038-01. Trata-se de um relógio automático com um movimento que a marca diz ser de origem japonesa mas sem indicar mais detalhes (o que significa que terá origem Citizen/Miyota ou Seiko/SII) com uma execução original de belo resultado.

A partir de uma caixa em aço com uns generosos 48 mm, a Avi-8 incorporou detalhes que me parecem muito interessantes. A começar no desenho do mostrador que, para se aproximar mais ao dos instrumentos dos bombardeiros, utiliza uma escala horária em que o 12 foi substituído pelo algarismo 0. Depois, quer o desenho dos numerais, quer dos ponteiros, é claramente reminiscente dos indicadores analógicos que encontramos nos painéis de instrumentos; e o sub-mostrador de 24 horas às 10h30 utiliza ponteiros em forma de hélice.

Mas a pièce de resistance é a enorme lente sobre a janela de data às 6 horas, que a Avi-8 afirma ser uma homenagem às torres de defesa dos bombardeiros, que possuíam um canopy em forma de bolha.
A tampa traseira da caixa, aparafusada, é gravada com um desenho estilizado do bombardeiro Lencaster e possui uma janela em forma de meia-lua para observação do movimento.

Dress watch ou desportivo? Este cronógrafo Seiko consegue ser ambas as coisas... e oferecer um conjunto de funcionalidades interessantes a um preço irresistível.

Mas o que mais me agrada nesta peça é a sua potencial polivalência. Como comecei por escrever, este é um relógio que tanto serve para ocasiões mais formais como para situações mais descontraídas. Aceito que poderá não ser propriamente um "daily beater", mas é certamente um relógio para usarmos em praticamente qualquer momento.

Uma das coisas que mais me atraiu para este modelo foi o seu desenho muito equilibrado, sobretudo a opção de libertar o espaço às 12 horas para uma complicação de Big Date com duplo disco, que me parece ter resultado muito bem.

Já aqui antes critiquei o facto de quer a Seiko, quer a Citizen proporem frequentemente cronógrafos com desenhos demasiado busy, mas este é claramente um exemplo contrário, seguindo muito de perto a escola de design britânico de que a Christopher Ward é talvez o melhor e mais recente exemplo.

E, pelo preço pedido, é certamente uma excelente opção.

Das Gehäuse und Armband ist der ungewöhnliche Teil des Designs und macht die Uhr abheben. Die Mitte des Gehäuses ist aus weißem Kunststoff und das weiße Kautschukband ist einteilig gestaltet und teilt sich dort, wo sich das Gehäuse befindet, um die beiden Seiten des Gehäuses.

Die Uhr ist wasserdicht bis 30 atm (was ein europäisches Modell nahelegt) und wurde in China montiert. Das K.Swiss Logo befindet sich auf der Vorderseite der Uhr über dem LCD und ist ebenfalls auf der Rückplatte eingraviert.

Es gibt keine Informationen darüber, wann diese Uhr hergestellt wurde, aber ich schätze, es war aus den späten 90ern oder frühen 00ern, als die Marke einen großen Marketing-Schub durchmachte.
